There has been an increase in absolute income resulting from the
industrialization of today's society.At the same time,the preferential
concentration of wealth has aggravated the alienation of the lower
levels of society to an unprecedented level.
Gyonggi Province has as its ultimate goal a society where all citizens
are guaranteed the basic necessities of life and the right to pursue
comfortable and affluent lives.This goal is the guiding principle
behind the establishment of Gyeonggi's social welfare policies.

 

  Welfare policies for those with lower income
The Gyeonggi Provincial Government has made every effort to guarantee the basic necessities of life for those who have a lower level of income,and has made a big step forward with the full-scale enforcement of the basic life guarantee system for its citizens.It has also focused its resources on information education for those with lower incomes so that they can participate in the knowledge and information society of the 21st century.

Policies for senior citizens
The Gyeonggi Provincial Government has been
active in implementing many programs to help
more senior citizens participate in society.
These efforts include hospitals for the aged,
mobile clinics,Oriental medical services,and
a paging system for those living alone along

A considerable portion of the provincial budget has
been devoted to projects for the impaired in an effort
to provide individuals with lives free of hindrance.
